Restorative Justice

What are Treatment Courts?

Treatment Courts or Problem-Solving Courts are specifically designed courts that serve persons with behavioral health treatment needs such as substance use disorders or mental health diagnoses.  These court programs offer participants an opportunity to enter into long-term treatment which being under intensive court supervision.  These programs are intensive programs that require participants achieve and maintain recovery, take on responsibilities, and work towards long term lifestyle changes.  Participants in treatment courts are closely supervised by the court to ensure their progress is monitored.  Treatment courts have been shown nationally to reduce crime and change lives to better the community.

The 17th Judicial Circuit Court is proud to offer multiple treatment courts.  For more information, visit the specific court programs sites.
